ABOUT

TerraScan is a concept for a soil measurement company that sells one product: verified data. The buyers are carbon markets and investors who trade soil credits with no ground truth underneath them. Self-set brief, three weeks, designed and built in Framer. Every figure on the live site is invented for the concept.

CHALLENGES

Color nearly sank it. The first version put the accent orange on the footer, the topographic lines and the wordmark. A company selling ground truth to carbon markets cannot look like a pitch deck. I pulled it back to muted browns and kept orange on three things only: the numbers, the key labels, the hover state.

That left type to carry the site alone, so Commit Mono runs across all of it. A measurement company should read as measured before you process a single word. The hero took more than five versions to get there, because the numbers kept fighting the statement instead of proving it.

Five TerraScan line illustrations in bracketed frames, numbered 01 to 05: satellite orbit, drone flight path, ground sensor network, soil sample layers and predictive model.

Commit Mono specimen for TerraScan: a large Aa, the alphabet, regular and bold weights, the line “We measure what matters beneath the surface.” and the numbers 33%, $400B and 2.4M+ in orange.

Commit Mono, the only typeface
